I had been watching the trends of photo booth rentals on the coasts for years, thinking what a great idea it would be for the Midwest. I loved the mix of entertainment, social networking, branding and photography, but I just couldn’t afford the startup costs.
One day in mid 2012, we were sitting with our Son in the hospital, who had been suffering from Crohn’s Disease for many years. He was so sad and depressed, worrying that he could not hold a job because he was sick so often. This broke my heart. I thought this was the perfect time to start a photo booth rental business. My Mother had passed away a month earlier, and my Father gave each of their Sons a little money. I knew that my Mother would’ve wanted me to spend it on something other than just paying bills, so began Big Happy Photo Booth!
When our Son is feeling well, he helps set up and break down the booth. When he is not feeling well, or is in the hospital, I can manage on my own. This works!
